The Best Birthday Ever

Hope everyone had a great Labor Day weekend! We had a wonderful weekend! Michael took me out for my early birthday dinner on Thursday night to the Cheesecake Factory! (yummy!) Then Friday, my family arrived! It was my mom and dad, my sister Katherine, her husband Jim and my nephew Jacob. They got in Friday morning and afternoon and we had the best weekend together! Here is the summary of the weekend:

Friday we just showed them around the apartment complex and Eden Prairie. That night we went to a restaurant called Meynards on Lake Minnetonka where they are known for the pan fried Walleye fish. After dinner we walked over to a yummy place for some custard for dessert!Saturday was our sightseeing day! We started by going to Cargill headquarters and showing them where we work. They were really amazed by just how beautiful the grounds were. After that, we went to downtown Wayzata for lunch at Cosi....our favorite sandwich place! Then we headed to downtown St. Paul & Minneapolis where we toured the Cathedral and Basillica. We also saw the Capitol in St. Paul and went to the sculpture gardens in Minneapolis. Then, we got back into the car and headed over to Mall of America! They were quite impressed by the nation's largest mall! :-)

Sunday, we spent the afternoon at a really nice park near where we live. The guys played Frisbee golf (or Bizbee as Jacob calls them). We took Jacob to the playground and just spent wonderful time outside visiting while Michael grilled us some burgers! The funny part was when probably 6-7 different flocks of geese flew over us...all heading south. Haha We were sure hoping they were just getting an early start and it wasn't indicating the cold was coming! Haha

We stayed up every night playing Pictionary....boys versus girls of course. It was SO much fun! I always think those are some of my favorite times with my family...when we're just hanging out together and playing games and laughing! (and eating a bunch of junk food of course!) Michael and I were both sad yesterday when we had to take them back to the airport...but we're so thankful for the nice long weekend we had with them! Here are some pictures from our fun weekend!
