On April 16, our Joseph turned the big FOUR years old! I can't even wrap my head around the fact that he is already 4!
Joseph's birthday fell on a school day. So I had the house decorated that morning when he woke up and we let him open 2 presents before school. Then at school, I took cupcakes for the class for his celebration. When I left the room, the teacher was hanging the happy birthday decoration on the bulletin board for him as he watched with a big smile on his face.
That weekend, we were with our families for Matthew's baptism...so we had Joseph's birthday party there that afternoon. Joseph chose a Paw Patrol theme because that is by far his favorite show at the moment. He got so many fun Paw Patrol gifts and he was just in heaven. We finished out the party with a piñata and birthday cookie. Such a fun party for our little guy!
Joseph is such a sweet boy and a great big brother. While he and Andrew are definitely entering the phase where they are fighting a lot, he definitely loves both of his little brothers and is VERY protective of them. He is still such a good little helper and is so interested in doing anything to help me and especially Michael with all his tasks around the house.
I have to say that Joseph is really not into toys very much. Now he plays with the toys, just not how they are intended. He typically uses them as props or objects in one of his pretend activities he makes up. He likes to play food where he asks me what food I want and he gets it. And lately, he is super into building forts or little areas that are all closed in like a little house. He gets very creative with it and even has his own little pretend lights, etc...it's quite impressive! He really enjoys doing arts and crafts activities which is why school is so great for him. I am trying to do more activities with the boys too - especially during the blah end of day hours. Joseph has also gotten quite good with puzzles which is fun. He likes to play outside, ride his big boy bike (training wheels) and loves our playdates and outings to the zoo and jumpy places.
We love our sweet Joseph!
