I passed!

Today I completed my last part of becoming a Minnesotan. I took my written driving test and sent off the application for the drivers license. Ok, not to sound like a nerd, but yes I did study for the test. I mean I've been driving for almost 12 years, but you just never know if you're actually driving "by the rules". :) Plus, my boss had said he remembered it being kinda hard when he took it years ago. But I have to say it was funny to have a question on the test about driving near snow ploughs! AND...in the study book, there was a whole section dedicated to what to put in your car's winter survival kit should you break down. Oh goodness....

Although I have to say the MN drivers licenses I've seen look goofy! And I'm not too happy about having to write down my weight on the application. If they print that on the DL, I might be using some white out or something on mine! ;) I mean really!

Everything else here is good. Michael is getting ready for a work trip next week. He will leave on Sunday afternoon to go to Chicago, and he will come back late Thursday night. :( Sad times for Kyla. This will be the longest we have been apart in our 3+ years of marriage. So that stinks...also stinks that when he leaves, I don't exactly have a list of friends in MN I can call yet. But I am planning a Harry Potter movie night to give me something to look forward to while I'm home alone. But I think Michael should have a good trip to Chicago. They are staying at the Hyatt downtown and he was designated as the person responsible for making sure all the attendees on the Sears Tower tour make it to the tower and back to the bus. He's not exactly looking forward to that part though. :) haha

Twins Game

We had a very nice and relaxing weekend. Saturday, we went to our first Twins game! And they won, so it made it even more fun! :) It's always neat to visit other baseball stadiums. The Twins play in the same arena as the Vikings; although, they are starting construction this year on their new outdoor facility.

Other than the game, we just had a lot of time at home, relaxing and watching tv. Sunday, we went to church at the Basilica downtown, and it was SO beautiful!! It is actually the first Basilica built in America. We were encouraged to see a lot of young married couples like us, so I have a feeling we will be going back there. :) After that, we drove around downtown for a while, but then got stuck in the traffic trying to get down to the bridge disaster area, so we decided to get out of there.
