We hope everyone had a great 4th of July! We didn't do too much, just stayed around the apartment and ran a few errands. We picked up some hamburgers from a place called Culvers for dinner. It was good, but just wasn't quite the same as Michael's Grandpa Springer's Annual 4th of July BBQ! :(
Well, this weekend we will be going on a Married Couples Retreat at a place called Christ the King Retreat Center in Buffalo, MN. It will basically be a weekend of conferences, personal prayer time, and prayer time as a couple. It encourages each person to reflect on how the graces of the Sacrament of Matrimony has transformed each of us over the years. We are really looking forward to the weekend. We would love to meet some friends out of it, but mostly we are looking forward to having a weekend to spend with God and in prayer. So please remember us in your prayers so that we will have a great and rewarding retreat! :)

First Day
Just thought I would post a quick note about my first day of work! It actually went very well. I was in orientation for the first half of the day. Then I trained with the temp during the afternoon. I got to meet most of the people in my business unit and everyone was VERY nice and welcoming. They all seemed very excited to have me join the team and were quite fascinated by the fact that I just moved from Texas. Of course I had to hear a few comments from an Iowa State grad and a Nebraska native about the fact that I'm an A&M grad. One of them has already threatened me with aggie jokes. As if I haven't heard them all... haha
Anyways, I think this will be a great job for me and I'm looking forward to learning more and getting more settled in!

Annie's Big Day
Well, we got back from Houston last night. We had such a GREAT weekend seeing family and meeting our new little niece! She is absolutely beautiful and just perfect! Her baptism was Saturday morning. Fr. Xavier (the wonderful priest who married us) came down and did the baptism, so it was really great seeing him again! Here are some pics from the baptism:
