Texas Here We Come!

This is technically part two of my previous post. We are excited to share some big news with everyone - we are moving back to Texas!!

Michael received a job offer from a company in Houston and after rounds and rounds of interviews and phone interviews, they offered him the position! It is with a different company but ironically his current company will be the customer he works with. He will have to travel some - possibly up to 30%. But even if we stayed here, he would have to start traveling a lot more with his current job.

We are so thankful to God for this opportunity. As excited as we are, there is also a very bittersweet factor to it all. Never did we imagine that we would enjoy ou time here as much as we do, and more importantly, we never expected to make such incredible friends. They are what makes leaving so very hard. But, Michael will be back for business and I hope to come with him from time to time to visit friends and keep in touch with everyone. It's hard to believe we've been in Minnesota for over 4 years now. We have gone through so much here and it will always be a special place to us since this is where we had our precious Joseph.

Michael is scheduled to start with his new company August 22, so we will be moving early to mid August sometime. Please do not put anything on Facebook about our move because Michael won't be giving his notice to his current job until after August 1.

So, in our recent trip to Texas for Allen's wedding, we extended our trip by a week to go and find a new home! It was a long and tiring week, but we finally found a house! It is Richmond which is West/Southwest Houston. It was the one house that we just fell in love with. We love the floor plan and it will give us lots of space (finally!!) to grow into. It has 4 bedrooms, an office and a formal living room. The backyard is pretty tiny but it was hard to find a house anywhere in Houston with a decent sized backyard. We are THRILLED to finally be getting back into a house. We are most excited though to finally be back close to our families and our dear friends in Texas! I look forward to many fun get togethers with everyone!

Here are some pics of our new house!

Texas - Part One

This past week, we were excited to take Joseph on his first trip to Texas! Michael was in his friend Allen's wedding so we headed down.

We were super nervous on how Joseph would do on the flight but he fell asleep before we even boarded and slept the whole flight - what a relief!

While in Temple, we got to meet up with our good friends Jared & Amber and went to Casa Ole - a tradition we started back in our days of living in Humble together!

The wedding went good and Michael looked so handsome. Unfortunately I didn't get any pictures of him. It was an outdoor wedding on a hot Texas day, but luckily I got to sit in the a/c and watch since I had little Joseph with me. ;)

While we were in Texas, we also got to introduce Joseph to all 3 of his great grandparents! It was so special and Michael and I were thrilled to see more of our family members meet our little guy.

The last part of our trip to Texas, we stayed with my sister Katherine in Dallas and the rest of my family came up for the night - including my Grandpa. I wished we had longer with everyone but we had a great visit while we were there! All the kids loved Joseph and it was so fun!
