Well, I know I previously posted that we were looking to book a vacation in Miami & the Keys. But, there has been a little change in plans. Instead we are going to.....The Bahamas!!!
We are using frequent flyer miles for our plane tickets, so we decided to go a little bit further away to get the best vacation for our miles. We leave in just a couple of weeks and will be there for 6 nights. We are staying in Nassau.
We decided to spend the first three nights at the Wyndham Hotel & Casino on Cable Beach. This is the popular beach where a lot of the other resorts are. Then we are going to hop over to the Hilton in downtown Nassua. It is apparently just across from where the cruise ships come in. From the pictures online, the beach doesn't look quite as big at the Hilton but it is closer to the markets and stuff. Also, one of the days we are at the Hilton, we are going to buy a day pass to go play at the Atlantis on Paradise Island. We would have loved to stay there but it is rediculously expensive!
Everything we've read about the Bahamas talks about how expensive food is if you're eating at the hotels, etc. The majority of our vacations we have spent at all inclusive resorts so it will feel kind of different having to pay for our food every time we eat it. :P So, our plan is to go to the nearby city market when we get there to buy some food for sandwiches, drinks, etc. We're going to take a little cooler bag so we can take our own drinks to the beach and then we'll take our own breakfast stuff. We figure every little bit helps!
This vacation comes at a really good time for us and we can't wait! I just hope we don't blind too many people there with our pasty pale Minnesota skin from the long winter!

Easter 2010
Happy Easter everyone! We hope you all had a very blessed Easter! We had a very nice weekend ourselves. I just love Holy Week with all the masses - so very beautiful!
Saturday, we went to Heather & Jim's house and colored eggs and then Michael and I went to dinner. Then we got home and Michael made a new recipe for a homemade BBQ sauce that he saw on a cooking show on tv. It was quite interesting and at first tasted a lot like chili, but Michael changed up a few ingredients and it tasted better. Today, we went to the 9:15 mass - it was such a wonderful mass! There were a couple of times the music was just so beautiful that I started getting teary. I blame it on the Holy Spirit filling my heart. :)
After church, we came back home and Michael made us a yummy Easter dinner with BBQ chicken. It was a gorgeous day with blue skies and lots of sunshine - just a wonderful Easter! We are so thankful for Jesus dying for our sins and rising for us! God bless!
