Well I forgot to take the memory chip to our computer and I can't find the wire to download the pics I took straight on the camera memory, so you'll have to settle for just my commentary this time. :)
We went to Des Moines last weekend to visit our friends Jared & Amber! They just had their 3rd baby in April, so it was really fun to see baby Reid. Saturday, we went to this neat place called Living History Farms. One half of it was an old pretend town to show what things were like in 1875. They had all sorts of little buildings - church, schoolhouse, general store, newspaper, blacksmith, etc. In each building they had staff people dressed up in old timey clothes and they would tell you about their area. It was so fun! And yes, the whole time I pretended I was totally in Little House on the Prairie! I told one of my coworkers yesterday that if I could live in another time period, it would totally be Little House time frame.
Then we ate lunch at a place that served southern cooking foods. Yums! Then we headed back to the farm and took the tractor ride over to the other half. They had 3 different live farms that showed the progression of farming from indians, to 1800's to 1900. They even had corn fields that were planted with a horse and plow thing.
Saturday night, we went to dinner and then once the kids all went down to sleep we made some homemade ice cream and played cards - good times! Thanks again Bruggers for the hospitality!
