Des Moines

This past weekend, we went to Des Moines one last time. Our friends there, Jared & Amber, are moving to Topeka, KS within the next month for Jared's job. These are our friends from Texas - Jared & Michael grew up together and he works for Cargill as well. It's been so nice to have them within driving distance. We are so happy for their new opportunity in Topeka but sure will miss having them in the neighboring state!

So, we headed down for the weekend for one last hoorah before they moved. Saturday, we went to the Science Museum. They had lots of fun activities and Jared & Amber's kiddos had a blast with all the hands on stuff. Who am I kidding - us big people had fun too. :) After the science center, we went to lunch at Heusen Hauss - a German restaurant right next door. They even served beer in a boot! After learning that a boot is about 2 liters of beer, Michael figured he should just stick with a mug with lunch.

We had lots of fun times playing spades and eating way too much junk food. :P We will miss our Texas/Iowa buddies!
