Weekend Fun

We had such a fun weekend when my oldest sister came in town with her sweet kids for a visit! They came a couple of weekends ago and we had such a fun time!  They got in town around 5:30 Friday night so it was fun that all the kids were awake and could see each other before bedtime.

Saturday was an absolutely gorgeous day so we decided to take advantage of the weather and go to the zoo.  It was a headache trying to get there due to other festivals going on in the area, but finally after parking in the medical center and just walking to the south entrance we made it inside the zoo.

It was truly the perfect day and all the kids had so fun seeing all the animals.  It was the most amount of one-on-one time my kids have had with Kristina’s kids (Gabriel, Grace & Annie) so it was so sweet watching them bond and have such a blast together.  They all got to see the baby giraffe and baby elephant that are new to the zoo too!   All of the azalea bushes were in full bloom and it was just gorgeous!

After a fun-filled day at the zoo, we headed back to the house to relax for a bit.  Then we headed out to a yummy Mexican food dinner.  The next day we all went to Mass together and then went to brunch at a new place near our house called “Another Broken Egg CafĂ©”.  Oh my, was it good!  It was such a treat to get to go to brunch too because that’s not something we do very often.

The weekend was so great and we were so happy that Kristina and the kids got to come down while Oscar was on call that weekend.  Gabriel, Grace & Annie were so sweet with Joseph and Andrew and my boys just adored them! And it was wonderful having some good time with Kristina to just talk and talk!

Joseph LOVED Grace! Even a few days ago he was saying "Me love my Gracie!"  :)

In the petting zoo - they had so fun brushing all the goats with the little brushes
So brave!

Kristina ended up renting a little stroller cart because little Annie's legs were getting tired.  So it became the most interesting attraction for them at the zoo - haha!  And they insisted in riding in this style throughout the zoo the rest of the day.

Before we headed out we stopped for a snowcone break
