I know this is a bit delayed, but I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and Happy New Year! Our time in TX was great - we had a nice long stay and loved seeing all our families and friends.
We arrived Friday on the 21st and stayed the night with our friends Misty and Greg. It was so wonderful to spend time with him and visit like old times - especially since next summer they will be moving to Scottsdale, Arizona! They are very good friends to us and even drove us to Temple on their way to Corpus! Thanks again M&G!
We spent Christmas with Michael's family in Temple. It was really great to see his parents, all the Grandparents, as well as Lauren and Luke, and Kenny, Jana and the boys. We had a nice visit getting to see Kenny & Jana's new house on Christmas Eve. Our 8 year old nephew kept telling us we needed to go home and go to sleep though so that Santa Claus could come to their house. ;)
Michael got to work out at the pecan orchard with his dad a couple of days - so he got his dose of fresh air and exhausting manual labor! And Faith and I had a baking day where we made all kinds of goodies, including homemade kolaches (which I had to explain to Becky and Brendan what those were). While we were in Temple, we also got to see our dear friends Stephanie & Ryan. We met up for lunch in Georgetown and had a great visit catching up and looking at pictures. :)
Then we headed to my parents house where both my sisters and their families were there. It was so wonderful seeing everyone and seeing how much all my little kiddos had grown! We had a fun party at my parents house with all my relatives where everyone brought a different kind of soup. And we played washers, horseshoes, foozball, and just enjoyed the beautiful day. New Years Eve we spent at my Gpa's house in Rusk where we do our crazy family games followed by fireworks at midnight.
Mostly it was just great to spend time with everyone, talk, and play with all my nieces and nephews. Then once they went to bed, us big kids got to play Pictionary! Definitely something I love doing with family is playing games!
It was really hard to leave everyone to come back. Especially when the pilot on the plane announced as we were getting ready to land in Mpls that the current temp was ZERO. Ug. Talk about a rude welcome back! haha
P.S. Here are some pics from our trip - we are missing some of the pics from Temple though so I'll try to post mroe of those once we find the CD of where we downloaded them to! ;)
