I kinda thought he would eventually try to start climbing out but he never did. He slept just great in his crib! I hated to change a good thing because he knew it was time to sleep when he was put in his crib. But...the time came that we knew it was time to move him into a big boy bed so that Andrew could finally have a REAL bed for the first time in his life! He had been in a pack and play in our room since he was born. Once they reach the weight limit for the bassinet part up top and you have to drop it down to the bottom, I think it gets a lot more uncomfortable. But, since Andrew was such a bad sleeper at night for so long, it was helpful to have them right there by me.
Then, once we moved I wanted to have some time to get used to a two story before making any changes. So finally we decided to take the plunge and do the bed switch! We bought a twin mattress for Joseph and are using an old bed frame that Michael's parents had. We did this about a month or two ago and he has done so great! He now sleeps with a pillow and blanket too! (as well as his five million stuffed animals) The different part is that when he wakes up he instantly gets out of bed. He was going out into the playroom and yelling for me from the railing...that made us nervous because pretty much the majority of the upstairs is all railing. So we put a childproof cover on his door knob so that he can stay in his safe child proof room until we get up there! :)
And sweet Andrew finally gets a real bed and real bedroom to himself for the first time in his life! We have all the nursery furniture back together and just finished decorating it last week! I think he sleeps much better in his crib and I'm glad for him that he has a more comfy bed and more space to stretch out and roll around.
We've rearranged the rooms and decorated since these pics, but just a couple of pics to celebrate our successful bed changes!

| We went with a little sports theme for Joseph's bed and room. I just painted the letters for his name on the wall today to be navy instead of white and we just hung the last shelf last night. I'm realizing I will need to do a room update blog soon so I can show the finished rooms! |
