Last weekend, we went to Dallas for the weekend. Saturday afternoon was my sweet niece, Sarah's, 2nd birthday! She had a Minnie Mouse birthday party and it was so cute! My sister is quite the crafty girl! We had all sorts of yummy food and they rented a huge inflatable water slide for all the kids. Joseph enjoyed the little kiddie pool with a couple of cousins! Sarah is so sweet and loved her little party. She has such a fun personality and the sweetest little smile - happy 2nd birthday Sarah Bear!
That night, we all went with the Eckel extended family (about 45-50 people) to the Texas Rangers baseball game. You see, earlier in the year when my Grandpa was alive, he decided he wanted to buy a suite at the game for the whole family to attend - he was a HUGE Rangers fan. Unfortunately, he didn't make to this point since he passed away in June. So, we all decided to honor his wish and we all went as a family. We had shirts made up with his picture on it in memory of him and got several sweet comments about them. The suite was great - filled with food and drinks everywhere you looked. The best part was that the inside part of the suite had a/c and it's own bathroom. The a/c came in handy seeing as it was 108 degrees when we got to the game!
It was a bit tricky with Joseph - he had a blast and loved climing up and down the cement stairs outside. But, we took turns watching him so the other one could visit and watch the game for a bit. In the second half of the game, they put a special tribute up to my Grandpa and the family on the jumbo tron screen because several family members had shared Grandpa's story with staff members at the Rangers. It really was such a special night!
Sunday, after church and lunch, we went back to Kat's house for a belated birthday party for Michael, my mom, and Oscar's mom Mary who was visiting from Argentina! We had great dessert and had fun celebrating their birthdays before having to get back on the road.
