EWWW

Disclaimer: I apologize in advance for just how random and inappropriate this story is. And normally random things like this only happen to Michael, but I guess they fell on me because he's out of town. Plus, I had to tell someone - so why not everyone right? :)

So today I was working at this offsite meeting all day that was at a local hotel. I've been planning this meeting for months, so while all the attendees were in sessions I enjoyed some relaxing time just sitting outside the room at the registration table to just chill out for a bit. I couldn't get the laptop to work that I had taken with me, so I wandered around the hotel a bit to look around.

The check in desk had free copies of USA Today so I grabbed one and took it back with me. I had only gotten a little bit through it when I had to fold it back up and actually do some work. So anyways, i had it folded up on my little table. So after the next break was over, the meeting consultant guy we hire as a consultant to run the meeting comes out and as he's walking by says "Do you mind if I borrow this a second?" (referring to my neatly folded newspaper). I said sure and smiled thinking he was going for a late breakfast in the atrium or something. So as I head out behind him to go to the hotel computer to check email, I see him round the corner...putting on his glasses...paper in hand....and going into the men's RESTROOM!!!! EWWWWWWWWWWWW!

I'm sure the whole hotel saw me make that horrible face when I saw him go in there with MY newspaper. But I couldn't help that. That is just nasty! So of course the whole time I'm checking my email I'm thinking "surely he won't actually bring the paper back right??". Um yeah. When I got back, there was my newspaper all folded up on my table. And literally with someone standing right next to my table, I went over, picked it up with 2 fingers on the corner and dropped it in the trash can.

Ok, is it just me or is that not completely rude? What in the world? Dude, either get your own paper, or don't read mine while doing your bathroom business. Ug........

Ducks & Birds

So I'm still getting used to the different birds up here. And well, I guess I'm noticing them all over again now since they are back from their winter vacation. There are a few black birds and cardinals flying around that are really pretty. I've even seens some seagulls (still trying to figure out that one). But, I find it so wierd/neat that the majority of the birds you see flying by your window and up in the sky are ducks and geese! Definitely something new to get used to!

So today after work I went to Wal-Mart. And because someone was in my way when I was trying to back out of my spot, I had to kinda take the long way out of the parking lot. So as I'm rounding a corner on my detour, there is a little grassy median/curb thing in the middle of the parking lot. I see a couple of duck heads on the other side of it. So as I round the corner I see what they are doing...there was a dug out part in the grass that was filled with water from last night's rain storm. And well...there were two ducks swimming their little hearts out in this tiny puddle. I literally laughed in my car by myself b/c it was just that cute. Literally the puddle was probably 1 1/2 ft wide and maybe 3 ft long. And these two little ducks were swimming like they owned that body of water.

Really ducks? You're in the "Land of 10,000 Lakes" and you pick the grassy puddle in the middle of the Wal-Mart parking lot? :)

Luke's Baptism

Ok, I'm about a week behind on this post...but I finally dowloaded the pics from Luke's baptism last weekend in Dallas! We had a really great trip and had a blast seeing my family and all my little people! :)

Luke had changed so much since we saw him last! He has the most beautiful blue eyes and the sweetest little smile. He did so great through his baptism and we are so happy to have a new baby Catholic in the family! :)

The weather was absolutely beautiful while we were there. But poor Michael sneezed the whole time. :\ Needless to say, he is not missing the 2-3 month long allergy season in Texas.

Work has been crazy busy for me lately. I'm hoping after this coming week it will be a lot better because a series of meetings and conferences will be over that I've been planning for months! Michael is headed to San Francisco for another management training seminar. And then we decided when he gets home, it will be time for us to start packing for our new place!! We drove by it today after church and it just made us even more eager to hurry and move in there. Less than 1 month!!!

Here are some pics from Luke's baptism:
