He's crawling!

I couldn't wait for his 10 month update in a couple of days to share this. Joseph is officially crawling on his knees! He's been doing an army crawl for a while with rolling, but he finally figured out how to do it on his knees!

Friends

I'm running a little late with post because it's been a pretty busy week!

Last weekend, we had a great time visiting with friends. Friday night we went to dinner with our friends Chris and Katie. We had a great dinner at Grand Lux Cafe in the Galleria area. It was so yum and so great to catch up with them. Joseph had a blast too and was a big hit among all the waiters walking by. One even brought him a big bowl of their special sweet potatoes. ;)

Saturday, Joseph and I went to visit my friend Shelley and her son Grayson. We had big plans for me to arrive around 11, visit for a while, and then head to Itz which is a place like Chuckee Cheese. Unfortunately, our plans hit a snag when I realized I locked my keys in my car. UGH! I was SOOOO mad at myself. And to make it worse, it's close to an hour from our house to Shelley's, but luckily my sweet husband came to my rescue. :)

Shelley and I were able to keep our plans for the rest of the afternoon besides being just a bit delayed. Grayson had fun riding all the rides and Joseph had a great time watching all the kids run around!

In other news...I've been praying for God to open up new opportunities for me to meet some stay at home mom friends in our area. It's been a lot harder than I thought, especially since we seemed to make friends so quickly when we moved to Minnesota. But, this was the first time I've had to try to make new friends while not working. It's been challenging and sometimes discouraging, but I feel like things are finally starting to fall into place.

I take Joseph every Tuesday to story time at the library in Sugar Land...about 20 minutes away. I've become friends with 2 girls there...one has a baby named Joseph too and the other has a little girl a few months older than the boys. We all 3 had lunch together yesterday with the babies and it was so much fun! We've decided to try to get together on a regular basis, so I'm looking forward to that.

I'm also part of a mom's group at our church. I've gone up and down with how I feel about this mom's group because I just don't feel like I really fit in with a bunch of the girls there. There is one girl though named Bridget that I've gotten to know lately. She invited me over for a playdate last week and we had fun watching Alexandra and Joseph play (minus a few boo-boo's). We went to the monthly meeting together and next Friday we are going to go with the babies to Stations of the Cross since Lent starts next week. I'm really looking forward to that and am thankful for the opportunity to spend time with someone that shares my faith!

God has always blessed us with incredible friends wherever we have been and for that we are so thankful! Here are a couple of pictures I took from our day with Shelley and Grayson!
