Andrew ~ 11 Months

I'm officially freaking out that this is Andrew's last monthly update before he turns a year old in a couple of weeks!!  Where has my little baby gone?! (and just to clarify, after a year I will just post updates every few months like I did with Joseph. I don't want anyone to think I leave out Joseph since I don't post updates on him as much...I just like to do the monthly updates when they are a year and under because of how fast they change)  :)

Let me say that my favorite part of month 11 is that we finally got our little guy to sleep at night!  We had to work on his sleeping for a couple of rough nights but he is finally doing better and started sleeping through the night.  The past few nights he has woken up once but he goes back to sleep much easier and faster than before (normally).  He typically takes two naps a day, one around 10/10:30 and another around 3ish.  Since he started sleeping better at night, his naps have gotten pretty short (30-45 min), but I will take that over the awful nights any time!  He is so sweet when he sleeps, his favorite sleeping position is to sleep on his tummy and tuck his arms and hands underneath his tummy.  We've also started a sleeptime routine with him where we read a couple of little books, sing Twinkle Twinkle and then put him in his bed.  It's been interesting to see how he is really starting to associate these things with sleep and he just instantly gets tired and still.

Andrew's other big milestone for this month is that he got his first hair cut! He cried a little at the beginning when she put the cape on him and then a little here and there.  But for the most part he did great and she was able to give him a great little trim!

I feel like Andrew is really starting to look bigger now that his two little bottom teeth show through when he smiles.  Love that little grin!  He is very much in the separation anxiety phase and sometimes just wants to be held, constantly. And for some reason, he really likes to chew/suck on my hair!  He will purposely reach for it to put it in his mouth.  And no matter how hard I try to avoid it, it always ends up in his mouth!  He loves to play and is taking more steps to get to and from different things in the playroom.  His longest was about 6 steps!  He has great balance and will stand there for a while too! He is also becoming quite the little climber.  He is VERY interested in our stairs now (eek!) and he likes to climb as many as he can before I get to him! But if anything is ever in his way he will just try to climb it to get over it or stand on top of it.

I have yet to be successful at getting Andrew to eat meat.  I still think he is a very texture oriented eater. He loves his carbs though - crackers, goldfish, cereal bars, puffs, cheerios, fruit, etc.  He does like cheese though so at least he can get a little protein from that.  He has also become very interested in needing to have a bite of whatever I'm snacking on while I'm holding him.  He will sit there and groan until I give him a little bite.  And if he is in his highchair and runs out of food, he will stare at it and just groan until he gets some more!

Andrew continues to be such a joy.  I am starting to feel really emotional about his big birthday coming up next month but at the same time I am loving this age and phase he is in!
