Halloween 2013

We had a nice Halloween this year.  Joseph was Scooby Doo (thanks to another hand me down costume from cousin Luke!) and Andrew was Batman!

The boys got to wear their costumes a couple of times which was fun.  In mid October we went to the zoo with our Tiny Tots playgroup for the annual Zoo Boo.  They have the zoo all decorated, candy being passed out throughout the zoo and a little place where kids can decorate their own little pumpkins.  We lucked out again this year weather wise and it was the perfect temperature where the kids didn't get too hot in their long sleeved costumes!

On actual Halloween, we went to a Trunk or Treat at the church. It was moved inside since it had been raining earlier in the day.  Joseph enjoyed getting all the candy and playing some of the games.  Then we went to the neighborhood near the church and went to a few houses there.  I think that was his favorite part.  Andrew enjoyed the ride along in his stroller.  I just kept thinking how this time next year, Andrew will be right by Joseph's side trick or treating!

I realize now that I need to coach Joseph a little better on which candy to choose when people let him choose from the basket!  We ended up with LOTS of big suckers and not a lot of little yummy candies for me him to eat.  ;)

Fall Festivities

I really think fall is becoming my favorite season!  It's nice when the weather starts to cool down and with all the fun holidays beginning.  And I think being able to share them with your children makes everything take on a new special meaning.

A few weekends ago, Michael's parents came in town for a visit.  On that Saturday, we went to a nearby pumpkin patch at the "Old Time Christmas Tree Farm".  It was a gorgeous sunny and cool fall day!  The patch wasn't the best of ones I've been too, but it still gave us something nice to do outside as a family and with Michael's parents!

There were a lot of pumpkins the kids could crawl on (or roll around in Joseph's case) and many neat photo-ops set up around the place.  Pretty much every activity inside cost additional money though.  So we just decided to do the little train ride that took you around the tree farm.   Joseph was even talking about that train ride that night during his bath!

I love these types of things and enjoy sharing these moments with my sweet boys!
