Joseph is TWO!

I'm playing catch up on all my blog posts!   Joseph is TWO now!  He had a great birthday last Tuesday the 16th!   We had a nice little party that night for him when Michael got home. He got to have a birthday brownie followed by fun gifts!

His big present from us was his new playset in the backyard! It's so nice to have a little place for him to play now!  He also got a doctor kit, sidewalk chalk and some bubbles!

Fun on his new playset

This past Saturday, we had Joseph's birthday party with family and friends since everyone was in town for Andrew's baptism (next blog post to come)!   We had a houseful of family and little kids everywhere and it was just perfect.   We did a Mickey Mouse themed party since Joseph loves Mickey.  We had a pinata, pin the nose on Mickey game, followed by gfits, hot dogs for dinner and a big cookie cake for dessert!

The kids all had a great time playing outside on such a gorgeous day!  Joseph loved his party and had so fun!   It really seemed like a true "kid" party so I was thrilled with how it all turned out!

Fun little game for the kids

Opening his new wagon!

Pulling the first string on the pinata!  Unfortunately, none of the strings opened it up so I finally had to do it and just shake all the candy out.

Very excited kids for the candy!  :)

All the kids had a blast, especially on the new playset!
We had Joseph's 2 year doctor appointment last week as well.  He weighed 32 lbs and is 36 inches tall.   So he is estimated to grow to around 6 ft tall as an adult if you do the whole double the 2 year height rule.   He is in the 90th percentile for both height and weight and still the 95th for head.  :)   He got a great check up though and is doing great.  He is wearing 2T shirts and 24 month shorts/pants.

Joseph loves to play tools and with his food set.  He is definitely Michael's little shadow and loves to help Michael with whatever he is working on.   He has really grown  as in how much he is using his imagination.  Even with just the way he uses his tool to fix things - so cute!  He also is getting more into liking to build hide outs and forts to hide his tools in.  He is also very active and really likes toys that allow him to do that - golf, basketball, bouncing a balloon in the air, etc.  And he loves to help me unload the dishwasher, transfer the laundry and if I have to vacuum he has his little toy vacuum helping me the whole time. He is definitely my special little helper!   Joseph has such a sweet personality and I can't believe our sweet boy is two!  And yes, he is definitely having his share of the terrible two moments but we are working through those.  ;P

He is starting to repeat a lot more sounds - especially for animals and different letters of the alphabet.   He has quite a few words - some the real word and some his own version of that word.  But he definitely understands everything I say and is making big attempts to communicate things to me.  Hopefully over the next few months, he will learn more words and begin to put a couple together!

We love you our sweet Joseph! You are such a blessing and our precious gift from God!
