Joseph Michael!
Our precious baby is here! I'm obviously very late with this post but I'm sure you all understand why. :)
Joseph Michael was born on April 16 at 11:22pm. He weighed 9lbs 11oz and 21.5 inches long! He is just amazing!
I basically had contractions for 3 nights in a row. That Saturday they just got worse and worse. We went into the hospital and had to come back home when I was only 1 cm dilated. After being home for a few hours I finally couldn't take it anymore and we went back and I was a 3 and was admitted. After I got my epidural my contractions started to slow down so they thought they were going to have to break my water or start me on pitocin. But that evening when the on call doctor came by, she said her and the other doctor on call were reviewing my ultrasound reports and felt concerned about possible complications of delivering naturally with his expected size, and they suggested a c-section. I was pretty disapointed, but we trusted their recommendation and and before we knew it our son was here!
We were in the hospital until the following Wednesday and then came home. The first couple of days were definitely challenging (and emotional) but we are slowly figuring things out. My parents got here on Saturday and will be here through this coming Sunday. So, it has been wonderful having the extra help! Not to mention, it is just so nice to get to share our precious one with family!
Joseph has his first pediatrics appointment yesterday. He got a great check up and is up to 9lbs 13 oz on his weight - so he is definitely a good eater and is growing fast! :)
Here are a few pics!
