Tonight, we received very sad news that Michael's grandpa, Grandpa Springer, passed away. :(
Grandpa Springer had been sick and in the hospital for close to 8 weeks. He has been through so much and was a fighter the whole time. We were so glad we were able to go by and see him in the hospital when we were in Texas last month. We got to hold his hands, tell him we love him, and share some news with him that made him smile.
Grandpa was a very spiritual and faithful man of God. He spoke so often how it is important to live a good Christian life and challenged all his family members to do the same. He was so kind and had a very special place in my heart, even as a "granddaughter-in-law". He always had a signature smile where he would turn up the corner of his mouth and give a little smile out of the side of his mouth. He passed along that little trademark to Michael so his sweet smile will always live on.
As sad as we are now, we know that Grandpa is finally at peace and has finally met our gracious God who he has prepared his whole life to meet. We are blessed to have him looking down on us from heaven and will miss him deeply.
