First Walk

Today, our sweet Joseph is 3 weeks old!

Today also marked a couple of firsts for us. This afternoon, I made my first trip to the store by myself, away from the baby. It took a lot of encouragement from Michael but after a few challenging days, I realized it may be good for me to get out for a little bit and have a change of scenery. So, I went to Super Target. I was only gone around 45 minutes and boy was I walking fast through that store! I only called once to check on him and Michael informed me that I woke Joseph up when I called - oops. It really did feel good to get out for a bit, but I sure was glad to see my little one when I got home! He was still sound asleep when I got back!

Today was also a super nice day weather wise. So, we decided to go for our first walk around the neighborhood as a family of 3. You should have seen the big smiles Michael and I had on our faces the whole time as we giggled about this new amazing life we have as parents. Joseph slept the entire time including when I put him in and out of his car seat - so I suppose he enjoyed his first walk too. :)

Here are some pictures from our outing!

2 weeks

Wow, just looking back at the pictures from my last post, I feel like our little Joseph is changing so fast. He is still such a precious sweet baby and we are loving every second with him.

Monday we took Joseph in for his 2 week appointment. He is up to 10 lbs 5 oz which is the 90th percentile! :) He is at the 75-90 percentile for his length and head circumfrence, so he is doing great! He had to get his first shot on Monday (Hep B) and it about broke my heart. He was already crying because he was hungry but then when he got the shot his cry definitely changed and I started crying right along with him. Luckily he calmed down soon and I fed him right away and then he was a happy camper.

My parents left on Sunday and it was so hard to say goodbye. We had such a great time with them and it was so special for them to have that time with Joseph. They helped us out so much around the house and just having that extra support here made a world of difference!

Michael started back to work at the office yesterday - so I've survived 2 days on my own so far. :) The days are a bit more tiring than I expected (especially during those times when he won't nap very well), but I know that will get better with time. I'm living my dream of being a stay at home mommy though so I am so thankful for this opportunity.
