All finished!

After the baby shower this past weekend, we went and bought the last few big things we needed to get things all ready for baby and to complete the nursery. We stayed up late Sunday night getitng it all set!

I have to say I feel very happy with the way the nursery turned out! I just love the little bedding set and the frog theme has been so fun to decorate with.

We still have some decorating to do on the walls, but I'm waiting for the matching stick on wall stickers that match the bedding to arrive! The important thing though is that the nursery is ready and if we had the baby today we would feel prepared to bring him home!

Here are some pictures and then I also took a little video too for those that want a "virtual tour". :)

Michael said he is afraid our baby's first word will be "ribbit" because of all the frogs. :)

Baby Shower Fun

This past weekend was so fun and special for me. Friday at work, one of my managers came and stood at my desk while I was on the phone (I was actually rescheduling my hair appt, oops). I got off and he asked if I could come into the conference room and help him with his webinar - which is a pretty frequent request. I jumped up and quickly followed him in there and as we entered the double doors, there stood half of our leadership team and some other coworker friends and they all yelled "Surprise!!". They threw me a surprise baby shower!

They brought in lunch, cake and my favorite chocolate covered strawberries and gave me lots of wonderful gifts and baby clothes. I was so surprised because I've never had any type of surprise party and I came so close to getting teary but I managed to get through it. ;) It was so nice to be able to celebrate the coming of our baby boy with the people I spend 40 hours a week with.

Saturday was my baby shower with my friends here. It was absolutely everything I hoped it would be and was so special and fun. There were 11 of us total - friends from work, friends from church, and friends through Michael's coworkers! It was the first time any of my friends here had met each other, so that was special to have them all together!

My friend Becky organized the shower and she did such a wonderful job! It was held at a party room at a local golf course and we had the yummiest brunch foods! The cake fit perfect with the theme "pond creatures" since it is the theme of our nursery. We played two really cute games - one of which I got to be a "Barker's Beauty" while my friends tried to guess the retail price of some of my registry items. :)

It was such a fun day and even just telling Michael about it later that day made me so teary. I realized how incredibly blessed I am to be expecting such a precious gift from God and for the opportunity I had to celebrate this time with my friends...and I realized how blessed I am with all the friends I've made in the 3 1/2 years we have lived here. My friends are all so kind and are a special part of my life. At the beginning of the shower, Becky had everyone go around and introduce themselves and share a funny story with me and that person. It was so fun to listen to the things that people shared - a lot of which involved me being new to MN and my adjustments after moving here, haha. And it was nice to think about each of my friendships with these girls and think about all that we have experienced in the time we've known each other.

Here are a few pics from the shower!

Super cute cake and balloons
It was almost too cute to eat!

Pretty room set up before everyone got there - notice the cozy fireplace in the corner

Fun baby items as the table centerpieces

Everyone eating and socializing

Cute little piggy bank! Everyone was so thoughtful and generous with the gifts they gave!
