We were quite the party goers this past weekend! (not really, but still) Saturday night we had my company "Holiday Party" - so basically it was our Christmas party...in February....don't ask. I was involved in the planning of it as usual so I'm actually quite glad it is over!
So I curled my hair to look "fancy", we got bundled up and braved the frigid air that blew in earlier that day! We had a really good time and the party went off great! My boss wanted a Salsa band there with a salsa instructor to give some group lessons. A few people went for it - it was quite entertaining!
Then as I was talking to a couple of the managers, they asked me and Michael to join them for an "after party" at one of the managers homes that lives close to downtown. We were kinda looking forward to just getting home at a decent time but realized we should go since they were nice enough to invite us. Especially since they made a point to tell me that it was only for an exclusive group. Or as Becky would say....apparently I'm part of the cool crowd now. Hehe So the manager's house we were at was quite interesting....it was small and very old, but I can't even imagine how much it probably cost. She had all kind of abstract art - one of which was a piece of drift wood nailed to a painted canvas. ?? I had to give Michael a couple of glares as I saw the wheels in that head of his turning as he contemplated saying something probably like "What's art about that?! I can nail a piece of wood to a canvas and call it art!!" But luckily he caught my stare and bit his tongue. :-) We finally got home around 12:45 that night. Ug. And being the 28 year old I am, I felt sick I was so tired. haha
Then Sunday after church, we stayed in the rest of the day. Reason being...high was -3 for the whole day with wind chills around -35. You know it's frigid when it's blue skies outside and cars line up at church to pick their families up at the door b/c it's that cold and windy. Don't worry though - it got up to 14 today so it's all good!
