Dreaming of a White Easter?

Michael and I were both off work for Good Friday. And it is a good thing! We got probably 3-4 inches of snow yesterday and woke up to more snow today! It is quite bizarre to have so much snow in the middle/end of March!

The good thing is that it doesn't create too much of a mess because it doesn't stick to the roads since we get into the mid 30s every day. It is really pretty though so we got some good pics of it!

On a different note, I hope everyone has a very blessed Easter! I love the Easter season and always love the anticipation of Easter Sunday after a long and sacrificing lent season! But whenever I think about how hard it is for me to go without sodas and cookies for 6 weeks, I remember how much Jesus went through for me....and I figure it is the least I can do!

We remain so thankful for Jesus' sacrifice for us. I am honored to have a God that loves me so much he would send his son to die for our sins...so that we may have a chance to be with him in Heaven. May God fill your hearts with his awesome love and peace on this Easter day! God bless!

Weekend with the Z's!

We had such a fun visit with Michael's parents over the weekend. They got in Thursday night around 8pm. Friday, we had a nice and lazy morning with a big breakfast and just visited. That afternoon, we headed to St. Paul to go to the Science Museum of Minnesota. It was a lot more fun than I think any of us had expected! They had lots of hands on stuff so we were entertained for hours! We even caught an Omni film on the Swiss Alps while we were there!That night we went to a really nice dinner at a place called Axel's. It was a day without meat, so we all got the Almond Crusted Walleye...SO yummy! I've never enjoyed fish so much in my life! :-)

Saturday, we went to the Wabasha Street Caves in St. Paul. They are these neat little caves that are now used as reception hall, wedding reception site, etc. We went on this little tour that took you through the different rooms in the caves and they talked about the history of when the caves were first used to grow mushrooms, etc. They talked a lot about the mob activity that used to take place there (even bullet shots on the walls from a shootout!). That night we went to a fun dinner at California Pizza Kitchen in this cute little area with lots of shopping and restaurants (reminds us of The Woodlands).

The rest of the weekend, we just stuck around the apartment. Much to Michael's delight - we ended up having a Risk tournament throughout the whole weekend! I started off hating the game, but by the end I was actually enjoying it (even though I was the only one to not win a game - argh!). It was really fun though. The game we played Sat night took over 4 hours!!!We were obviously sad when they had to leave on Monday. But, most importantly, we were SO glad they were able to come visit!
