I go for my next appointment on Thursday for my monthly checkup. Although this isn't my big 20 week ultrasound, the doctor said she would try to take a peek on the ultrasound to see if we can tell the sex of the baby! Fingers crossed!!
I don't have a whole lot of obvious pregnancy symptoms, just like when I was pregnant with Joseph. And I'm sure my list below could easily indicate either way....but, for fun here is a little info about this pregnancy to help you in your decision:
-No nausea so far (with Joseph I had days of sour stomach feeling at the beginning)
-Definitely way more tired with this pregnancy
-Having to go to the bathroom during the night more than I did with Joseph at this point
-No major food cravings although I have been having more of a sweet tooth in the afternoon
-Stomach seems to be sticking out a lot higher than with Joseph
Check back at the end of next week and hopefully we'll have an answer!

BABY Blessing!!
As most of you know by now, Michael and I have been rejoicing over our good news! God has blessed us once again and we are expecting BABY #2!!!!!!! We are beyond excited and so happy to be able to share this special time with all our family and friends! And here is our story...
I actually found out I was pregnant a day before my Grandpa passed away. In fact, it was the morning I was leaving with Joseph to head up there to be with him in the Hospice center. I was obviously hoping for a positive test but didn't actually expect it to be positive! I didn't even tell Michael I was testing because it was kind of a spur of a moment decision. So I woke him up and told him I needed to show him something. I handed him the test and said "Is that a second line??!" He freaked out in excitement and it was so fun!!
We decided to tell my family the next day, which actually ended up being the day my GP passed. It was obviously a very bittersweet and emotional day. But I'm glad we were able to offer a little bit of joy and hope to my immediate family during a really hard time. It was also special to think of how when one life ends, another begins. And I like to think especially that a special part of my GP lives on in our little baby!
A couple of weeks later, we had a very big scare with our pregnancy. I started spotting and having some bleeding which scared us to death and we were so afraid we had lost the baby. We went in the next day to the doctor basically just expecting that fear to be confirmed and at the initial look the doctor even said he couldn't see a baby. Then, tucked away in the corner, he saw a tiny little heart beat just flickering away! We were all just freaking out and I cried some serious tears of joy and relief!
My spotting continued for about a week but then luckily stopped. We went back a week and a half later for another appointment and baby had grown and looked great! Then 4 weeks later, we saw our sweet baby with little arms and legs and it was just kicking and moving around - it was so amazing! It's incredible that a baby is doing all that at just 10 weeks!!
So, my due date is February 19 and I will have a c-section sometime the week before. We'll get the exact date scheduled as it gets a bit closer. Joseph and the baby will be 22 months apart. I actually feel very happy about what their age difference will be. As far as the gender (a common question to us), we truly will be so excited either way. It will obviously be so fun if its a girl so we can have one of each and give the Zajicek side the first granddaughter, but I love little boys and it would be so fun for he and Joseph to be little buddies!
My next appointment is on the 20th (my 18 week appointment) and my doctor said she will try to take a peek to see if she can tell the sex of the baby! If it doesn't work out, we will hopefully be able to tell at the big 20 week ultrasound a couple of weeks later.
Aside from some crazy fatigue, I have felt great this pregnancy! My stomach is starting to stick out a bit more where it's getting harder to find semi-flattering things to wear. :) I will try to post baby updates often as we prepare our family for our newest addition - so stay tuned!!
