This past weekend, I was thrilled to have my best friend from high school, Carrie, come and spend the weekend with us and her two sweet girls. Carrie and I have been great friends since about 8th grade and have kept in touch over all these years!
Carrie and the girls got in Friday evening and Michael grilled us some yummy hamburgers. Carrie's daughters Brooke & Heather are just sweet as they can be and Joseph had a blast playing toys with them and following them all around!
Saturday morning, we headed to Katy Mills Mall and let the kids play in the play area. Then we went to the carousel where they all had their first carousel ride! It was so fun! Joseph had so fun and he held on really good so I was able to step back real quick and snap a couple of pictures since he was strapped on as well. After browsing a couple of stores, we headed back to the house for lunch and naptime. It was great to have time to just sit and talk to Carrie. It's been years and years since we had so much one on one time - it was wonderful!
That afternoon, we headed to the park in our neighborhood to play. It was pretty hot outside and no shade in the park so we headed back to let the kids just play inside. Then that evening, we went to a great dinner at Cheesecake Factory. Us 3 adults split a piece of Reese's peanut butter chocolate cake cheesecake - YUM!!!
Sunday we all went to church and then after a lunch at McDonald's where the kids got to play for a bit in the play area, Carrie headed home. It was such a great visit and I'm so thankful that she was able to come down for the weekend. Brooke and Heather were so good and just the sweetest girls! Thanks again Carrie for coming - I miss you already!
