On Saturday, I was blessed to be able to spend my 33rd birthday with my family! We all gathered at my parents house for the long Labor Day weekend.
Saturday, all the grandkids had a wonderful time playing outside. It was a pretty hot weekend, so aside from a few cool off breaks indoors, they all spent so much time playing their little hearts out. That afternoon, my Mom and Dad planned a super fun treasure hunt for all the kids. They were divided into 2 teams (Joseph got to be an honorary member of both teams!) and there were clues hidden all over my parents backyard and front yard. And all the clues were rhyming riddles they had to figure out where to go next. My parents really did so good and it was really fun to walk around with the kids as they excitedly dashed off to the next clue. It was a bit hard to keep Joseph interested, so he had fun with Daddy at the playset. That evening my family gave me my birthday presents and after the kids went to bed we had a yummy ice cream birthday cake!
Sunday, we went to Mass and got to see Father Xavier - the priest that married me and Michael. He was reassigned to another parish in Texarkana for a couple of years but just recently got moved back to my parents church - we are SO excited! Michael, Joseph and I got to take the gifts up during Mass so that was special to do as a little family for the priest that has been with us since the beginning! That afternoon back at my parents house was another fun day of playing outside. Us big girls got some cat naps in too which was very nice. That night, we had a feast of smoked brisket and homemade beans - so yum!
Thank you for all the phone calls and birthday cards for my birthday. It was a great day and we had a very fun weekend! And regarding the pics, they are mostly of the kids. All my pics seem to center around Joseph these days! I need to do a better job of taking pics of us adults, so I'll work on that in future events. :)
