Visit to Dallas

Michael was off work this past Monday for MLK day, so we drove up to Dallas to see my middle sister, Katherine, and her sweet family!

We got there Friday night around 9pm. After we got in and visited for a few minutes, we got down to business and started the weekend of Mexican Dominoes! :)

Saturday, Katherine and I took Sarah & Joseph with us to Grapevine Mills mall, an outlet mall about 30 minutes away. My mom and her sister were in town for a sister's weekend too so we met up with them at the mall for lunch which was nice! Then Kat and I did some serious damage at the Ann Taylor Loft outlet - our favorite! We weren't hard to miss in the fitting room - we were the ones in the handicap dressing room with 2 strollers, clothes everywhere, and a toddler crawling back and forth underneath the door while another baby babbled the whole time. :) I also got Joseph lots of cute spring outfits during our shopping trip - so fun!

We also had a good laugh with Kat's stroller. We realized when she got it out of the van that the back wheel was completely bent outward. We didn't really have another option so we took it in and decided to make it work. It looked hilarious and it refused to wheel in a straight line, so we pretty much laughed at it the whole time we were walking around. We got a few funny looks too.

Sunday after church, we headed home where the guys had what they called a "smokapalooza"! In other words, they used the smoker and smoked all kinds of yummy meats for dinner - we had porked tenderloin, ribs, sausage and chicken. What a feast! While they had good times BBQing outside, Kat and I took the kids for a walk. We talked about how fun it was to have just a "normal weekend" since so many of our previous visits have been limited to us flying back in from MN for special events or holidays. So it was nice to just have time to catch up and hang out together!

We headed back to Houston Monday morning and Joseph did great in the car. So thankful for another safe trip and so grateful we had such a fun weekend with Kat and Jim and our sweet niece and nephews!

On our way into the mall - notice the bent wheel on Kat's stroller on the back right side. ;)

On our walk to the pond in Kat's neighborhood
Sarah & Joseph having bath time together! They are about 8 1/2 months apart in age - little buddies!
We played dominoes every night until about 11:30! And yes....that is a total of FIVE containers of cookies and candy that were a crucial part of the game!
