Last week, I went home to be with my mom for her second surgery. The great news is that they got all of the cancer removed! Praise God! Now they are just having to figure out if she will need chemo as part of her therapy or just radiation.
It was so great to be with my mom for a few days. Both of my sisters were there too so it was so just special to all be there for my mom to support her and my dad too! I can't even begin to tell you how brave my mom has been - it truly is inspiring to me. She has relied on her faith to help her get through this super scary time and has been blessed with so many wonderful friends from church and at work that are constantly checking on her. It's so easy to understand why so many other people love my Mom - she is just amazing. She has just been so peaceful about it all and has trusted that God is always with her. And, my Dad has been so great for my mom - always being by her side through every appointment and surgery and lifting her up with his love, faith and prayers. I've realized even more just what incredible parents that I have!
Mom made it through her surgery just great and was back to feeling better the next day. We were able to go to Kristina and Oscar's house for dinner one night since they live in Tyler now. Back at the house, Katherine and I worked on preparing some meals to put away in the freezer for those days where my parents are just too tired to want to cook. It's so hard to be away, especially during this time. But I know that my parents thought of me when they ate their meatloaf so that helped me feel a little closer. :)
Here are a couple of pics from while I was in TX last week.

Me and my pretty Mom!
So nice to be together!
