Our families arrived Thursday and Friday. Friday night we all went to dinner at our favorite Italian restaurant. It was Joseph's first time out in a restaurant. I was quite nervous about how he would do, but he did great! He slept the first few minutes, had a bottle and then was wide awake looking around the rest of the time. It was so great to have a dinner with our families and have time to visit with everyone!
Saturday morning, we all met at the church for the baptism at 10am. Our deacon, Jack, did the baptism which was nice because we have gotten to know him pretty well and he prayed for us the whole time we were pregnant. The baptism went great - Joseph was surrounded by our families and our friends here. Unfortunately, he was VERY tired at the baptism so he cried for the majority of the time, but at the moment of the actual baptism when the water was poured on him, he was calm and totally quiet. :)
After the baptism, we headed back to our house for lunch and a party. Sunday, after Mass we came back to our house for lunch and then headed to the nearby arboretum. We got some great pics with the pretty flowers and Joseph enjoyed the stroller ride outside!
We were so sad when our families left. The weekend was just SO fun being with everyone and having Joseph surrounded by people that love and adore him so much. It was great being able to introduce him to his families! Thank you all SO much for coming - the weekend was everything we hoped it would be and are so thankful you were all here to celebrate Joseph's special day with us.
