Oh heavens, people here are funny. I totally just got home but just had a funny conversation with the man at Subway that I felt like blogging about.
Since Michael is out of town for the day, I decided to go to Subway on my way home to get my dinner since it was raining and I didn't want to have to go back out. When I was making my sandwich a meal with chips and a drink, I decided to treat myself and upgrade to one of the bottles of soda in the fridge. So I told the Subway guy "and I'll take a bottle of soda". His response was "Soda?? You're not from here!!" I told him I just couldn't bring myself to say "pop". He said "Oh, me neither!" I excitedly hoped I had come across another person from the good ol' south, but then he informed me that he was just from Iowa and even though they say pop there too, he's just never called it that.
I told him I was from Texas and that he's lucky I didn't just call it a coke. He got all inquisitive about why we call it that and how we ask each other for particular types of sodas if everything is a coke. I told him I just used it as a way to refer to colas in general. Then I told him how we would say it in different situations, etc. By the end of the conversation as I'm grabbing my chips and stuff, we're both totally laughing and he is saying "I just don't get it!!!" I walked out thinking to myself "and you never will you silly Northern person". haha

Oh that is funny Kyla! It is soooo 'soda', well actually it's soooo 'coke' but soda is a good middle ground and a way to not totally throw the people up there for a loop! haha
Jared is going to completely love this story!
That is sooo true! Have you heard anyone say "paaap". When ever we would visit my northern relatives, I always hated it when they said that!
