Our little guy has reached his last monthly birthday before turning the big ONE next month! And what fun the past month has been!
Since Joseph has become mobile, both of our worlds have changed in a major way. It's so nice to be able to go to different rooms and have him just follow me in there. However, it's certainly a new thing to try to get things done because I'm constantly watching to see where he is and what he is getting into. I try to let him explore as much as possible though (when it's safe, etc) because I know just how exciting it is to him and he is learning so much!
He is still eating great! When we all sit down to eat, he is always the first one eating and the last one eating - no matter who we are with. :) In the past month, he has also cut two new teeth...his third one was actually on the bottom and the 4th one is on top. Now that they have cut through, he is getting better with his sleep at night again. He wakes up for the day normally around 6:15am and then naps around 10:30am and 3:30pm. He is so sweet and happy. He has a cute little smile he does where he crinkles his nose and smiles. He also has a little shy face he will do when being silly or especially around new people...he will smile and lean his head towards his shoulder. He is definitely feeling a lot heavier lately too. My estimate based off our home scale is that he weighs around 21lbs...and I have the biceps to prove it! :D
Joseph's favorite things to play right now toy wise are with his little plastic balls. He has learned to throw them and loves to take them to the tile to hear the noise they make when they bounce on the tile. He still enjoys his little learning house door frame thing he got from Santa. He knows how to push the buttons on the little house radio for the songs and pushes them over and over. I think he is learning how to dance too! Other than that, I would say he doesn't really sit and play toys all that much. He is all about getting into cabinets, drawers, my purse, etc. He also really likes shoes and could sit there forever and just pick them up and move them back and forth.
Joseph has been making new sounds lately too more with a "ta" sound. He is constantly making noises and it is the sweetest sound. He is also starting to point at things which is really cute. He still really enjoys when we go for walks outside around the neighborhood. And every day, we walk to our mailbox on the adjacent street and on the way back, we have a tradition that we stop at the stop sign so he can reach for it and point. He just loves that bright red stop sign!

I love the color of his hair! It's so hard to believe he's almost one.
Wow. How time flys by. You must be washing Kerrmie because it is shrinking
