Colorado!

We're back! We had a wonderful time in Colorado!

We got into Denver Friday night and stayed in the west part of town. Then Saturday morning we drove about 1 1/2 hrs to Beaver Creek - about 5 miles past Vail. The drive was just amazing! The mountains were just beautiful - all covered with snow! Saturday, we just walked around and took in all the scenery. Then we headed to the spa to get massages! I think she kinda hurt my back b/c I had a couple of back spasms afterwards, but it was worth it. :)

Sat night we went to dinner at Outback for our Valentine's dinner. We wanted to dine at one of the local unique places, but due to our lack of planning ahead, we would have no luck getting reservations unless we wanted to eat at 9:00 at night. Then headed back to the condo and I had made some chocolate covered strawberries - my favorite!

Sunday morning, we did more picture taking of all the pretty scenery! Then we left around 12:30 for our 4 hour snowmobiling tour! It was a guided tour and there were probably 7-8 of us total. Michael and I shared a snowmobile (it was quite a bit cheaper doing it this way) and just took turns driving. We went up to the top of a couple of different mountains - got up to about 12, 500 ft! Boy, was that air thin! We felt out of breath just standing there! The ride was SOOO much fun! The guide took us all on ways that he doesn't consider his typical tour. So we went up some very steep hills and down some hills to where we were basically pointed straight down - yikes! It was a blast! At the top of the big mountain we were on, we got some great pics of the Continental Divide!

It was a quick trip - but exciting and fun all the while! Here are lots of pics and some videos!

This was a little stream we drove by on our way back from church

Beautiful pines

These are all pics from the snowmobiling tour:

Me by the snowmobile - go ahead and laugh at the goofy helmet and goggles. I know I totally looked like a gigantic bug. Believe it or not, that helmet was an XXS! ??

The Continental Divide

Video view from top of one of the mountains during the snowmobile ride - it was VERY windy!

Kind of a bumpy ride, but this is me taping from behind Michael as he is driving the snowmobile. I was using one arm to tape and the other arm to hold on for dear life. :)
