Finally Back!

Wow - can't believe it's been almost a month since my last post!  So much has happened in the past few weeks because we are finally moved into our new house!!

I have to say our whole moving/selling process was very stressful and bumpy.  For weeks we lived on the thought that we may be moving any day now.  But because of the buyer of our house and his weird loan and bank situation, it kept getting pushed back and back.  Finally we closed on our house on September 9 and moved in that day!

We loaded up all our things that Sunday with the help of Michael's Dad, my cousin Nathan and Lauren and Luke.  So very thankful for their help!  We left out the next morning and drove our two massive Uhauls and parked them at the new house and then drove all the way up to Conroe for the closing of our new house.  I have to say that as we finished the last few things that Monday morning at the old house, I had tons of emotions hit me.  Both some of the stress from the whole experience but mostly just sad feelings to leave that house where so many memories were made in the short 2 years we were there.  Joseph was only 4 months old when we moved in there and that is where he learned to crawl, walk, run and so many other fun things.  It is also where we brought home Andrew from the hospital and welcomed him to his new home.  Don't get me wrong, I've always been super excited about our new house but moving just felt so different this time when you have kids that are making memories for you there.  As we were pulling away from that house one last time, I was crying as I was driving the truck and the boys were in the back seat.  I reached back with my hand towards Joseph and he just grabbed my hand and held it for a few seconds.  It was so sweet and really made me feel better and reminded me that I will always have those memories and that we are going to a new home that will give our boys much more space to play....and since we plan to be here a while, this will be where we settle down and make so many new memories to come!

So anyways...after we drove to the Title Company, we got there 2 minutes late and then Andrew had a massive blowout diaper that was everywhere so we had to clean that up super quick before heading in.  After the closing, we had to drive all the way back to the old house to get the rest of our cars (about 1 hr 15 min back) then drive 45 minutes back to the new house.  And then wouldn't you know Joseph started running fever in the car and was crying nonstop saying "bobo, bobo.".  Turns out he was coming down with hand, foot and mouth disease.  Oy.

Anyways, that night we finally got all unloaded thanks to Jimmy, Lauren and Luke and our friend Chris.  We seriously could not have done it without all of their help - especially since it was a work night for everyone! To say there were boxes EVERYWHERE would be an understatement.   My mom came in town that next weekend and helped watch the boys so we could do more unpacking. Then this past weekend, my dad came on his way to a beach trip to help Michael put some shelving in the garage.   We finally just got our internet last week so it's nice to feel reconnected to the world again!

Unpacking is so very different this time around since we have two kids now.  The hour or two we have in the evenings doesn't allow for much time to make progress.   So, as soon as we can get our last few rooms squared away, I will try to post some more pictures.

Loading up the Uhaul at the old house - did I mention it rained 3 times that day with humidity out the wazoo?

We finally made it to the new house!  Notice our tall trees! :)

Boxes every possible place

First things first, baby gate was installed at the top of the stairs!

Then we got a rug for the living room since it's all tile

The playroom was one of the first rooms to get completed!  And of course, it hasn't looked that clean since!  :)
