Destin - Part 2

Our days started quite early as the latest Andrew slept the entire week was 5:45am!!  (?!?!) We were all 4 in one room, so I didn't have a lot of options as far as finding a way to try to get Andrew back to sleep without waking up Michael and Joseph. And most days, as soon as Andrew made a peep Joseph would wake up.  The sun also came up a lot earlier there so I think that was part of the problem too.   But, the good thing is the boys and I got to enjoy dawn out on the balcony enjoying the quietness of the beach before the day started.

Tuesday we spent as another beach day.  That night, we sent Michael's parents on a sunset dinner cruise to celebrate their 40th anniversary.  They had such a great time and really enjoyed it!  We decided we would all do our own thing that night.  So we went just the 4 of us to a restaurant called Fisherman's Wharf which was right on the harbor.  We had to wait quite a while for our food which is always tricky with the boys, but aside from that it was a really fun night with my boys!

Wednesday, Lauren and Luke went on a river canoe trip so we decided it would be a good day to break up the week at the beach and go to the Gulfarium in Ft. Walton Beach. So Faith and Jimmy went with us to the aquarium.  I had expected the aquarium to be an indoor activity and relief from the sun but to my surprise, it was pretty much all outdoors.  And there were no fans.  And that day there was absolute ZERO wind on the beach.   Yikes, it was hot but we made the most of it.  We toured the different exhibits and the boys had fun running around.  We caught one sea lion show which was really cute too.

After the aquarium, we headed to lunch in Destin.  We went to a really neat place called McGuire's Irish pub.  The restaurant is covered in single dollar bills hanging from the ceiling and taped to the wall.  In the explanation in the menu, it said there are over one million dollar bills hanging in the restaurant!    The portions were huge but so yummy and I sampled their homemade root beer!  Such a fun lunch!

Me and the boys (Andrew had just woken up from his morning nap which we just did on the beach each day, so he was still a little out of it)

A pic of our canopy from up at the canopy.  Towards the end of the week, Lauren and Luke bought a canopy too so we then had lots of great shade space between the 2 canopies!

Ready to head out to dinner Tuesday night

We took a family picture on the balcony before dropping Faith and Jimmy off at their dinner cruise.

Joseph looking with the "noculars" as he called them.   One morning we all saw several dolphins swimming around!

Check out the size of that burger!

Wednesday night was our turn to make dinner and Michael made homemade icecream for dessert.  Yum!   And of course he had a couple of little helpers the whole time.
